The Minister announced that the National Media Centre will remain open on all seven days of the week without any break. She also assured that the journalists will receive copies of Parliament papers including questions and answers.

1. Pension: The delegation demanded that the Union Government should introduce Pension scheme for the eligible and needy journalists as done by many State Governments.

2. CGHS: The delegation demanded that the existing CGHS facilities for the accredited journalists should be streamlined and expanded as done in case of Central Government Servants. The delegation also discussed about suitable insurance policy for the accredited journalists.

3. Press Pool: The delegation reiterated that the Press Poll for the accredited journalists should continue and improved.

4. L & D Category: The delegation demanded that the practice of giving accreditation under the Long and Distinguished category should continue.

The delegation headed by President Mr Jaishankar Gupta, included Vice-President, Mr Shishir Soni, General Secretary, Mr C K Nayak, Treasurer Mr J C Verma, Executive Committee Members- Ms Huma Siddiqui, Mr Santosh Thakur, Mr Anil Dubey and Mr Srinand Jha.

The Minister gave a patient hearing to all the issues and assured that she will take up the matters on behalf of her Ministry.
